Honors and Awards
Congratulations to Cadet Commander Kasie Fanning, her staff and all members of the Wade Hampton NJROTC unit. They have been named DISTINGUISHED UNIT for school year 08/09, finishing in the top 30% of over 600 Navy JROTC units nationwide! Competition was fierce and their recognition is well deserved.
Congratulations to Deana Brooks and Patrick Forshey, for their recent acceptance to the Governor's School for Science and Mathematics. GSSM is located near Coker's College in Hartsville, SC. Since the program is a residential program, students are required to live on campus during their junior and senior years of high school. They study the same subjects required of other high school students in SC, but they have more intensive math and science courses, which helps prepare them for college courses and careers in those areas.
Congratulations to Heyward Evans Student of the Month

Principal Greg Ackerman set the stage for a successful HSAP testing period today when he agreed to be "pied" as a part of the HSAP assembly. Mr. Ackerman told the students he would shave his head if they topped last year's first time test takers pass rate. As a show of good faith, Ackerman allowed a randomly chose student to "pie" him.
We are no longer accepting submissions for Scribblers of Dreams. The 2008-2009 edition will be presented on May 27th during the WHHS Spoleto Program
